About this tool

A single wrong character in an IBAN can send a payment to the wrong account or get it rejected days later. This validator checks the country format, the exact length and the mod-97 checksum defined by ISO 13616, and formats the number into readable groups. It covers the Gulf, Levant and North Africa properly — where many validators fall short — and names the bank for Saudi IBANs.

Frequently asked questions

Does a valid IBAN mean the account exists?

No. It means the IBAN is correctly structured and its check digits are right, which catches almost all typing mistakes. Only the bank can confirm that the account exists and is active.

How long is a Saudi IBAN?

24 characters: SA, two check digits, a two-digit bank code, and an 18-character account number. UAE IBANs are 23 characters and Egyptian IBANs are 29.

Is it safe to enter bank details here?

The check runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. An IBAN alone does not allow anyone to withdraw money, but it is still personal data, and it never leaves this page.
