About this tool
Some characters take up no visible space at all, yet they break search, sorting, passwords, code and page layout. They arrive silently when you copy from websites, PDFs, word processors and chat apps — and Arabic text carries far more of them because of right-to-left direction marks. This tool lists every hidden character by name and count, and gives you a clean copy.

Frequently asked questions
What is a zero-width space?
A character that marks a possible line break but has no width. It is invisible, yet it makes a word technically two words, so search and comparison fail.
Why does Arabic text contain so many hidden marks?
Editors and apps insert right-to-left and left-to-right marks to control how mixed Arabic and Latin text is displayed. When the text is copied elsewhere, the marks travel with it.
Are non-breaking spaces removed?
They are replaced with normal spaces rather than removed, so words do not run together.
